"Preserving a working relationship -
Nature - Farm - Dog - Human"

Wild Goose Chase uses TRAINED BORDER COLLIES to provide safe, humane, and effective control of year-round problem geese.

When Canada Geese take up residence on your property or pond, their droppings can create unusable grounds, polluted ponds and creeks, and serious health and safety problems. We provide environmentally sound goose management to keep residential, business and public properties free of wild geese.

Wild Goose Chase, wild goose control service, entered it's tenth year in the spring of 2011. The list of our clients remains diverse. We work with municipalities, and private properties in NY, MA and Conn. Our visits include parks, beaches, golf courses, playing fields and we even "patrol" parking lots. .

Our goose control border collies, Faith, Rhos (Roz), Tarr, Ben and Skye continue to thrive on the work we do. We continue to train daily - with herding work as a basis for the goose control work. Faith, the "old pro" at 11 years of age has the smarts only experience can teach. Rhos (a Welch name), 7 years old, is a dedicated and hard working collie in the mold of Lassie. Tarr, at 3 years of age, is very talented at herding and extremely determined at goose control work. Ben, our young male, is gaining experience and learning his lessons at herding. He is gaining remarkable poise and shows a great love for water. Skye, Rhos' daughter, is a mature and eager pup who loves to show off her growing skill. Will, who is seen on some of this site's pictures, was one of Wild Goose Chase's original Border Collies. He and Faith went on many goose control trips together. He was always eager to please, a great love. We miss him very much.

We continue to use a kayak on properties with large bodies of water -- large ponds, lakes and rivers. The border collies are good swimmers, in fact Rhos can out swim geese. But, in those large bodies of water, and when the water gets choppy, the kayak increases the effectiveness of the visits. At times we work properties with hundreds of geese.

Our border collies got their start, as working dogs herding sheep and poultry. Faith has experience working with cattle and pigs! The herding work gives the dogs the experience and discipline they need for goose control work.

Faith, Rhos and Tarr have competed in sheep dog trails. Every Wild Goose Chase Border Collie participates in herding demonstrations several times a year, at local festivals and fairs. Faith has placed second in numerous classes in trials throughout the Northeast.
